and suddenly it’s been three years since I wrote a post

Well, everything has changed. I’m no longer fighting kids for naps and struggling with a toddler and a baby. Now, I’ve decided to homeschool my soon to be second grader (after almost two painful years of public school that ruined my formally rosy impression of just about everything school related) and my soon to be kindergartener!
Wahoo!!! should be interesting…

naps and picnics…

Wulf

Wulf has decided to try to stop napping. I am not supporting his idea! Let the naptime enforcement BEGIN!!!

Toddler Camping…

We got home from camping last night – exhausted. It went very well, despite a foreboding start. We started out late in the day on Friday, swung by Fred Meyer to get marshmallows and hot dogs and found not a single bag of large marshmallows in the entire store! So we settled on some star shaped marshmallows that were almost big enough to put on a stick and headed to the Beacon camping grounds. Well, the camp ground was full – completely full. I lobbied hard for a return to the homestead – but Eric wanted to CAMP. :) We drove east and went over the Bridge of the Gods ( I love that name, feels very mythical even though it’s a steel bridge) and then plugged on to Hood River. The kids were very, very restless after being in the car for almost 2 hours. But we found a campground with a few openings! Hurray! It was almost 7pm by the time we got out of the car and got the tent up. We managed to find some wood for a fire and roasted our star shaped marshmallows ;) and went to bed. The kids LOVED it !! They did a great job of sleeping in the tent. Wulf woke up at about 5 am ready to go! Eric took him out of the tent and on a little hike around the campground. Eowyn and I slept until a decadent 7 am :) Then we all went on a hike to a waterfall, then back into the car to Beacon rock for some more hiking. I was exhausted by Saturday afternoon. Eric left this morning to climb Hood, he should be home tomorrow night sometime. I completely forgot to take my camera – so no pictures for the scrap book .
I’m planning on taking Eowyn to the Kids Space (her new fall preschool) on Wednesday to see if she likes it. I think she will love it :)

The beach

Here is a video of the kids from the beach, but there is a lot of background wind so you can’t hear the voices very well.

Well it’s been almost a year since my last post…

But in that year I’ve managed to upload some videos to youtube, Not kill the kids and occasionally squeak out some personal time (hence the no blog entries).
We went to OMSI today and the zoo yesterday. Both locations have a dinosaur exhibit right now and the kids loved it!.

The kids are really into superheros right now. Eowyn is a fan of Wonder Woman and Hawk Girl from the Justice league and Wulf is focused on Batman and Superman. He has decided that all incarnations of spiderman are evil and he MUST be a villain. :)

We also went to the beach with the kids and i have some video of that – just email me and I’ll send it to you.

May, June, July and August – Travel and potty training

Well I think I need to readjust my expectations for this Blog – it’s definitely Not daily, weekly or even really monthly lately!

We’ve been to Virginia and the kids loved it. My brother got married and crashed a motorbike on his honeymoon. Eowyn is almost completely potty trained (I am knocking on wood furiously). Eowyn starts pre-school in September and Wulf and I will go to the playpark.

I’ll try to get some pictures up very soon.

April is almost gone with trips to OMSI and playgroups…

Here are some photos from this month.
climbersThe skinny is here:
-Wulf is really walking these days, he can climb pretty well tooWulf_climbs and he is starting to like books and he begining to try to say a few words. Right now he uses “Ba” for book, boy and sometimes Dog. He really, really likes dogs and cats! He was diagnosed with another ear infection on Monday, so he is on antibiotics again.Wulf_ice-cream

-We went to OMSI a few timesomsi_1 and to a bunch of playgroups, including an easter egg hunt at a farm and one easter morning at our house. The horses were a HUGE hit with Eowyn, Wulf was much more interested in the three dogs and cat that actually let him pet them.eggHUntegghunt2egghunt3eandMomE-ice

- We had a doggy visiter for a few days and the kids LOVED it. One of our playgroup friend’s went out of town so we played with one of their dogs for two days. There are some pictures of Eowyn with him below. He is a blonde lab named “Zephyr”. Eowyn is till talking about the time Zephyr came to visit and names Brooklyn’s dogs when she runs down her “I love…” list. Eric and I usually get first place but the dogs are a fast second. Wulf rounds out the bottom of the list, but atleast he makes it!Eowyn_Zephyr

Wulf’s 1st Birthday

WU;f-1Aethelwulf turned 1 on March 14th this year! Waaa hooooo! It doesn’t seem like a year has gone by yet. But i guess it has ( and then some). He also decided he was finished nursing, much to my surprize. He’s a big boy now, I guess. He is learning to walk and climb. he loves playing games like peek-a-boo and putting things on his head. He isn’t talking much, but that will come soon I’m sure. Here are a few pictures of his birthday and the big visit from my sister, Debbie and her two daughters and my parents. We MISS you So much!!!!!

wulf_xmas
So the holidays were busy, lots of stuff happened:
Eowyn turn 3 and had a tropical dress up party; Zaphod and Xena found new homes where they won’t be terrorized by children and forced to sleep in a cold garage; I got really, really upset about the cats; Steve aka Pop, Kathy aka Nonny, Jon and Kiki came in town for the Christmas;The entire Bass clan including Bob’s folks and brother JD came over for Christmas eve dinner; New years came and went; I got really upset about zaphods absence again; We got snow; we got more snow; An insulated pipe in our garage froze and then burst collapsing the garage’s ceiling; I realized that would have killed the cats if they were still living out there; i still miss Zaphod; Workman came over and cleaned up the mess; There is still a hole in the ouside wall and the ceiling is still missing; The work men say they can’t come back until the end of Febuary;Wulf sleeps through the night at 10months old! Hurray!;Eowyn gets croup – I freak out; Wulf gets sick too, but not as bad; Wulf stops sleeping long stretches and starts waking up every 3 hours again. I feel sick, but don’t realize I actually have mastitis for a few days; Wulf gets sicker; I get sicker;
And that brings us up to today. I’m on some antibiotics, but I think I still have a virus or something. Wulf is no longer sleeping very well, but I hope it’s just because he’s sick and maybe he’ll go back to it after this illness passes.
Here are some photos of the past few months :
